I looked out the bathroom window upstairs a few mornings ago when I heard our dog barking at something from our fenced in yard. I did not see what the dog was barking at, but I did see missing shingles and plenty of weathering on our garage roof. We had the house roof done a year and a half ago, and now it was definitely time to get the garage roof shingles replaced. We called the same company that does roof installation in Brooklyn NY to come out and do our garage. They work very fast, and I was impressed to not find a single roofing nail or piece of old shingle laying around anywhere after they were done. I even got up on a ladder and took a look to see what they may have left in our gutters. They were clean as a whistle.
I did not hesitate in having them come out to do the garage roof in the same type of shingles we had on the house. They cover the landscaping plants with tarps, and they protect the siding and windows with plywood sheets and tarps too. Laying down all the covering material helps keep debris from scattering everywhere, and it was particularly important not to get any roofing nails in the driveway to end up in car tires. The house only took two days to finish, so I figured they would be done with the garage before noon in one day.
They get to work right away. Before I realized it, the area was covered and the old shingles were off and in a dump truck. The underlayment went on so fast I could not figure out how they could do that. The shingles went up to the steady, pop, pop, pop of the pneumatic roof nail guns. We had them replace the gutters on the garage too, and they had it all done in one day.
